Our Story

Hello! My name is Lisa Marie and I wanted to thank you for visiting Burty’s Bake Shoppe! Not only am I a high school history teacher but I’m also a life long dog lover and I want to share how I am turning a tragic moment into something positive.

This is Jack-boy, my best friend who was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2018. When the vet told me it was most likely due to the ingredients in his food and treats I was heart broken. He trusted me to do what was best for him and I just didn’t realize. Sadly, we lost Jack-boy soon after

Together with my rescued friend Burt, we decided to help others avoid what we went through with Jack-boy. We started making chemical and filler free treats and offering them to friends and family. Before we knew it, people were coming back for more and more because their dogs loved them. Not only was I happy to spread awareness of what harmful ingredients they should be avoiding, but I was also helping them to keep their friends safe!

Wanting to reach more people, I decided to open Burty’s Bake Shoppe and cannot wait to share my homemade doggie treats with you and your pets. These treats will help keep your dogs healthy and active as well as aiding digestive issues, allergies and weight management in dogs both big and small. And don’t worry, we can customize any order.
